Vendor Spotlight
Sandy Spring Gardens
Operated by Tom Farquhar in Ashton, Maryland, Sandy Spring Gardens offers a rotating selection of fresh, seasonal vegetables.
Ever wonder why farm fresh veggies taste so much better? Here’s the inside scoop on your new favorite booth at the market.
From the first seed, Sandy Springs focuses on what will taste the best. They choose seed varieties based on taste, not how long they’ll sit on a shelf. They build healthy soil using only organic compost and smart cover crops, testing mineral levels annually to ensure top flavor and nutrition. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides here! Natural soil life feeds the plants and a little natural stress helps boost the production of phytochemicals, which are linked to reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
By supporting Sandy Spring Gardens, you get the best tasting, most nutritious veggies and help keep local farms thriving. Check out their website for more information and we’ll see you at their stand May 1st!
Blooms by Floribunda
Blooms by Floribunda is here for all your plant needs! Julie Marandure, a Silver Spring resident, runs her farm in Dickerson, MD, right by Sugarloaf Mountain.
Every flower at Blooms by Floribunda is nurtured with incredible care. Julie’s childhood in the countryside of Eastern Zimbabwe sparked a deep love for flowers and her favorite part has always been seeing others light up after being gifted her flowers.
They work in harmony with the land using innovative techniques like mushroom compost magic for a boost of nutrients, precision watering systems to regulate hydration and minimize waste and pesticide free farming for happy pollinators to grow stunning flowers naturally.
When you support Blooms by Floribunda, you’re taking home flowers grown with heart and eco-friendly practices. Visit their website for more information, and follow them on Instagram @bloomsbyfloribunda for the latest updates from the farm. See you at their booth this season!
