Who is behind The Clarksburg Yard?
The Yard sits on land owned by Clarksburg Church, but we long to see the space become a place for all neighbors (independent of religion, background, or story) to find connection and belonging.
The vision for The Yard began when the congregation saw that Clarksburg’s rapid population growth had not resulted in places for residents to hang out, connect, and just enjoy life. Those who seemed to be suffering the most were Clarksburg teens who didn’t have many options to gather locally. That’s when Clarksburg Church realized: we’ve got land, and we could actually do something about it. The Yard is our way of creating a space where everyone can come together to relax, play, connect, and feel like they belong.
The Yard is being designed through community input and for the benefit of all, regardless of background or belief. It's a shared space built with, and for, the people of Clarksburg.

How is The Clarksburg Yard funded?
The Yard is funded through generous support from Clarksburg Church, as well as local donations, federal, state, county, and private grants.
Our ongoing vision and goal is to see the maintenance and programming of The Clarksburg Yard become financially sustainable through the profits of our future cafe, Clarksbrew.
Local fundraising continues to play a vital role in showing community support and unlocking further funding.
What are the Phases of Construction?
There are so many special, little, design features that are built into the plans for everyone to enjoy. The Yard is being constructed in many different stages:
Phase One: Coffee bar + Outdoor Gathering/Play Space (In process)
Phase Two: Community Path
Phase Three: Quiet "Restore" area with Meditation Labyrinth

The Clarksburg Yard project will transform an underutilized space into a vibrant, accessible hub for community interaction, economic growth, and well-being. We measure the project’s success in fostering engagement, wellness, and sustainability in the Clarksburg community using the following criteria:

What Happens When People Feel They Belong
“I love having the Farmers Market at The Clarksburg Yard on Thursdays—sweet treats, fresh-baked bread, local meats, flowers, plus a smoothie truck and coffee cart! It’s great to see new vendors most weeks! This is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and neighbors. Open 7 days a week, The Ice Cream Yard is our go-to for an evening treat (Roadrunner Raspberry is my favorite!). A true gathering place that brings Clarksburg together.”
