Partner Spotlight: Kid Friendly Fun at The Farmers Market

We’ve bragged about our vendors before (and for good reason) They bring the flavor, color, and energy that has made The Clarksburg Farmers Market “the place to be” every Thursday. But they aren’t the only ones making our market stand out. Our local partners play a big role, especially when it comes to bringing fun activities for the youngest market goers. The kids!

Each week, we welcome a rotating schedule of preschools, sports associations, and businesses to host a kid-friendly activity like crafts, scavenger hunts, and games. Its a win-win: the kids have something fun to do while their parents can shop around and our partners have a platform to introduce themselves to the community in a hands on way!

One of our partners, Messiah Lutheran Preschool, has been with The Clarksburg Yard for a few months now, providing kids’ crafts and activities on Thursdays. Messiah Lutheran Preschool is open to kids ages 2.5 to 5, offering nurturing, high-quality preschool programming in a welcoming and inclusive environment. They’re nationally accredited, state-approved, and part of the Maryland EXCELS quality assurance program. If you’re on the hunt for preschool options, they’re definitely worth checking out!

“We are so excited to partner with the Clarksburg Yard Farmer's Market this summer! We have enjoyed our sessions at the market and are looking forward to joining again for the summer. Each time, we plan to bring something kids can create and something kids can play with. At the last market, we had a variety of coloring pages as well as "silly scissors" that cut different shapes of lines, a bunch of "Mr. Potato Head" toys, and a bubble machine for children to enjoy. Kids (and kids-at-heart!) are welcome to stop by for some fun between shopping for fresh food and enjoying tasty treats at the market.”
