Plan Your Visit

We want your first visit to feel easy and welcoming. Whether you’re here for the farmers market, grabbing coffee with a friend, or just exploring a new corner of Clarksburg, here’s everything you need to know.

The Yard is located at

22820 Frederick Road, Clarksburg MD 20871
Right in the heart of Clarksburg, along 355 (Frederick Road) just north of Clarksburg High School.

Getting Here

The Yard is easy to get to—whether you're walking, biking, driving, or rolling.

We’re located right along the MD-355 bike path, making it a natural stop for pedestrians and cyclists. We love seeing neighbors arrive by foot, scooter, stroller, or skateboard.

If you’re driving, there is free parking on site. Please be courteous and do not park on the grass (Septic lines and drywells maybe located underneath).

Note: During big events like the Farmers Market, parking fills up fast—so walking or biking is often the easiest way to get here! But there is also overflow parking available at Clarksburg High School (2 blocks away).

Hours

The Yard is always open for the community to enjoy—from sunrise to sundown. It’s our neighborhood front yard, and you’re welcome to come sit, stroll, or gather informally any day of the week.

Special events like the Thursday Market, pop-ups, and porch nights happen regularly. Check the events calendar for the most up-to-date schedule.

Clarksbrew serves up espresso drinks, fruit teas, and cold brew on the porch. Follow @clarksbrew to see updated hours.

The Ice Cream Yard operates seasonally and often during events. Follow @icecreamyard on Instagram or website https://theicecreamyard.com/ for updated hours and flavors.

What to Expect

When you arrive at The Yard, you’ll find:

  • A big open space with shaded seating and picnic tables.

  • Sometimes music and yard games are out. But sometimes its just peace and quiet.

  • Friendly people of all ages.

You don’t need a ticket or an invitation. You’re welcome just as you are.

Accessibility

We believe that belonging begins with access. Inclusion is one of our core values—and in every phase of our design, we’ve prioritized making this space welcoming and usable for people of all abilities. While many of our long-term plans center around fully accessible infrastructure, we’re still in an early stage of development. As a result, there may be some uneven terrain, limited paved pathways, or lack of shade and seating in certain areas.

Here’s what we can offer right now:

  • Surfaces: The Yard is primarily grass.

  • Seating: Limited seating is available, and guests are welcome to bring their own picnic blankets and lawn chairs!

  • Restrooms: A portable restroom is available on the property.

  • Parking: There is accessible parking.

  • Assistance: If you or someone in your group needs support or specific accommodations, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out in advance so we can help make your visit smooth and welcoming.

We’re building toward something better and in the meantime, your presence and feedback help us grow more inclusive every day.
